Capiozzo & Mecco comes back with a new release after their “Whisky a go go ” ( Irma records 2003) which featured among the others guitarist Daniele Santimone and vocalist Mario Biondi.
The trio with Christian “Chicco” Capiozzo on drums, Mecco Guidi on organ and Daniele Santimone on guitar has been working with internationally renowned artists thanks to it’s very recognizable jound and interplay which allows the unit to embrace a veriety of music styles with great personality.
Among the several international artist the band has been collaborating with we’d like to mention historic american jazz trumpet Jimmy Owens who chose the trio as a steady rythem section both live and in studio for the album ” Peaceful Walking”.
Several tracks from ” Whisky a Go Go” have been used as sound tracks for several TV shows most notably ” Sex & the City”.
After playing several clubs and festivals around the world ( suchas Siberia’s Novokuzniech jazz festival and the Blue Note in New York city) the trio come back with a new release
” Movie Soundtrack Experience”.
The album entirely recorded with vintage analog equipment contains 10 original tracks mixing Soul,Funk and Jazz.
The title evongs the desire to compose songs inspired by Movie Soundtracks which has influenced the back ground of many generations and to pay hommage to great composers belonging to the history of Film music.
The album features a variaty of musicians and introduces a new ” Experiment” by the band which takes Capiozzo, Mecco & Santimone on a musical journey with greater awareness and experience.
” The trio is considered to be the only Italian Band in it’s genre and it’s compared to groups such as “Medesky Martin & Wood” or Larry Goldings trio” ( “Sound” magazine review).
